PRESENTATION OF THE WEBSITE

Computer experts, writers, translators, technicians… all the technologies are at the service of the 44th General Chapter. A team of Brothers and lay persons are working so that its development can be followed as speedily as possible on the five continents.

Starting from today, the chronicle record of its development will appear on this website with photos, videos, documents, statistics and other data that will be a faithful mirror of this important Lasallian event. It will be posted simultaneously in English, Spanish and French versions.

EVERYTHING IS READY TO BEGIN THE CHAPTER

All is in readiness in the “Casa Generalizia”. Throughout its long corridors there is an atmosphere of excitement and anticipation . We have a feeling that we are going to experience “something great” in Lasallian History.

In the Chapter Hall, where the plenary sessions will take place, the final details have been completed in the Chapter Hall and the logistical support teams are set in the rooms close by.

Yesterday and today have seen numerous trips to the Rome airports. Practically the entire number of Chapter Delegates has now arrived in Rome.

“Good morning!”, “Ola!”, “Bonjour!”, “Buenos dias!”, “Guten morgen!”, “Bon dia!”, “Buna drminata!”… These greetings were heard this morning in a rich mixture of cultures and languages that are the result of the expansion of the work of de La Salle over more than three centuries. We are not speaking of a new Tower of Babel because, in this case, there is ample good will to understand.

The time of preparation is now a thing of history. We eagerly await forty intense days of evaluation, discernment and building upon our work. Tomorrow the Brothers of the Christian Schools commence their 44th General Chapter. For all of that we will be sending information as quickly as we can.
