From October 27 to 29th, Congrès La Salle 2001 was held in Lyon, France. Those invited to the gathering were members of the Lasallian Network of France, diocesan directors of education, directors of formation centers, Lasallian partners engaged in Catholic education and other religious congregations of educators.The Congres commemorated 350 years of dedication by Lasallian educators. There were several conferences given on topics of Lasallian education. Br. Álvaro Rodríguez Echeverría, Superior General of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, spoke on October 28 on the topic of The Committment to Education by International Lasallians.
