Christmas 2004

Are we attentive to the inspirations we receive from God? Are we as quick to follow them as these holy Magi were in letting themselves be led by the star which guided them? Frequently the salvation and happiness of a soul depend on this prompt fidelity to grace (Meditation 96.1 from Saint John Baptist de La Salle).

May Jesus, who became a child, grant to us this Christmas and in the New Year, the availability, simplicity and trust to be attentive to the saving plan of the Father, who holds us in his hands. Like the wise men with Jesus, may the Lasallian star enable us to discover in children and the young, especially the poor, the face of God who invites us to give our lives for them. This is the extent to which they should be so dear to us.
