7th Asia Pacific Lasallian Youth Congress, APLYC 7: "Together in Faith-Full Service" Young Lasallians, from Asia Pacific countries gathered in Hong Kong to celebrate the 7 th Asia Pacific Lasallian Youth Congress. Reflecting the theme of the conference we met to share our lives, cultures, Young Lasallian programs and the passion we have for spreading the Lasallian Charism. Central to the Congress was discussing the Lasallian mission regarding the Rights of the Child. This included presentations from Key Note Speakers, Rukshan Fernando, Human Rights Defenders Project coordinator for Asia, Connie Tsang, Education Officer of Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF and our own Br. Victor Franco, General Councilor, as well as District presentations of the situations in the countries we represented.
The Congress was full of the richness and diversity that makes up each of our communities within the Asia Pacific region. Together we shared Mass and times of prayer, service projects, as well as group discussion, meals, socialization, games, dances and so much more. It was easy to see that not one person who entered the congress left without being changed.

The International Council of Young Lasallians (ICYL) met at the Generalate in Rome from December 29 to January 1. Ten of the fourteen members of the council were present, including the Vicar General, Brother William Mann. The council is currently working on a variety of projects, including the continuing effort to regularly publish articles about young Lasallians on the Institute website and in the Intercom Magazine. The creation of a database of international contacts connected to Lasallian Youth is continuing to be developed. The council is also working on the creation of a permanent display within the De LaSalle Museum in the Generalate that will represent young Lasallians from around the world. In preparation for the International Symposium of Young Lasallians, which will be held in July 2006, the ICYL has been working with the organizing team (from the regions of Italy and ARLEP) when asked. They recently offered suggestions concerning the content and preparation of the Symposium upon request of the organizing team.
