Br. Théophanius-Léo Châtillon

He was born in Nicolet, Canada, on October 31, 1871, in a family of artists and fervent Christians.

He was a model pupil in the local schools. He entered the novitiate of the Brothers of the Christian Schools and took the name of Br. Theophanius Leo.

For 10 years he was either a teacher or a headmaster. The following 30 years he was novice master, and then became Visitor General of the United States.

He had taken as his motto: "Make people happy in order to make them better".

When he died on April 28, 1929, everyone said: " We have lost a saint! "

His cause has been sent to the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, and the "positio" document on the heroicity of his virtues is being prepared.
