The Procurator General is equivalent to a religious order's legal council with matters that refer to Church law. He is accredited to the Holy See to treat with the offices the Roman Curia in the name either of the Institute or of any of its members on all matters which come under the responsibility of the Procurator General. He keeps informed on all matters concerning both the rights of religious and the procedures of the Curia, and he keeps Brother Superior and the General Council informed on these subjects. The Procurator General reports directly to Brother Superior, and his appointment is communicated to and registered with the Holy See. |
