Program Description: Camp runs for almost entire month of July. Classes in Art, Computer, Writing, Tennis, Language.Open to new ideas! Afternoons are for recreation, service, sports, field trips. We have about 8 boys in each class.
Population Served: inner-city boys, 10-14 years old
Geographical Area of Service: Providence, RI
Gifts/Skills/Talents most needed: Teachers, recreation coordinators and athletes.
Age Minimum: 24 and up
Minimum/Maximum length of service: 1 week to 3 weeks
Housing Accommodations: Very comfortable community comprised of Brothers and Lasallian Volunteers. Our house has 9 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and we can accommodate up to 2 or 3 people for 3 weeks in the summer.
Benefits: Room and Board, and the satisfaction that comes along with working with very special boys.
Application Requirements: The earlier the better, but 3 months notice is sufficient.
Special Notes:
 We do not have the housing to accommodate immersion groups and married couples.
Volunteers do not need to be Catholic.
Orientation: A short orientation is possible upon arrival. Volunteers should have some
experience teaching and, if possible, working with adolescent boys. |
