RELAL – Notes on the Symposium for Lasallian Women (May 2017)

‘One call, many voices’ was the invitation extended to 116 Lasallian women to come together in the the Symposium for Lasallian Women in Latin America for a few days of reflection on their experience and on their contributions to the Lasallian educational mission.

The event took place from the 16th to the 18th of May, 2017, in the Colegio Ignacio Zaragoza in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico. The participants came from nineteen countries of the eight Districts which make up RELAL. As Lasallian women they worked to achieve three goals.

The symposium was greatly enhanced by the presence of Brother Superior General, Robert Schieler, and the Leadership Community of RELAL comprising Brother Paulo Petry, Brother Carlos M. Castañeda and Brother Sergio Leal, plus the Visitors of the Districts of North Mexico and Antillas – South Mexico, Brothers Gabriel Alba and Martín Rocha. Their presence was a palpable testimony to fraternity and corresponsibility in the mission.

We provide below the link to some notes on various aspects of the itinerary of the group during the three days of the symposium, and we also give the texts of the messages that were the point of departure for the discussions and the conclusions of the working groups and the significant experiences presented by the participants. These all testify to the dynamism and commitment of the Lasallian women RELAL. Finally, we give the conclusions that were presented in the closing session by the Organising Committee, plus the commitments made by the participants in groups according to Districts at the end of the symposium.

The conclusions and all the other information about the meeting are available at the followingq link.
