In the towns of La Antigua Guatemala and Huehuetenango, groups of people interested in forming Communities of Young Lasallians have come together. This plan for Communities is the initiative of the Young Lasallians Movement of the District of Central America and Panama, and it is led by the District Network for Young Lasallians which includes representatives from the Young Lasallians of the five different countries that make up our District.
These communities of Young Lasallians aim to be places where young people who are involved in some way in the Lasallian Educational Mission can join together. It is an idea which hopes to generate projects, apostolates and specific commitments inside and outside of educational establishments. In addition, they will develop their project of life in
common involving liturgical and fraternal celebrations and training for the Mission which they share with the Lasallian family.
The idea has generated a lot of enthusiasm among the Young Lasallians who have been involved in the pilot project, and it will soon be extended to the whole of the District of Central America and Panama, so as to generate institutional spaces that are relevant for former students, young teachers and any others who are stirred by the Lasallian charism.
