The Fratelli Council, with Bros. Jorge Gallardo and Rafa Matas, and two Marists Brothers, visited the Lebanon Project from January 16 to 22. An opportunity to look over the present and think about the future. The Fratelli Community is made up of 4 Brothers (2 Marists and 2 Lasallians) from Spain, Mexico and Chad and 3 Volunteers from Taizé, Spain and Bolivia.
During these days we have been able to visit the 4 shelters (refugee camps) where the Project works and the two Beyrouth and Rmeileh sites where different specific programs are developed, apart from those carried out in the shelters themselves in Abra and recently in Zahrani.
We also visited the communities of De La Salle Brothers (Mont La Salle) and the Marists Brothers community (Champville).
We had the opportunity to share with the local Board of Directors of the Fratelli Association, and meet with all the educators.
After a time of retreat in the Greco-Catholic Monastery of Saint Savior, we
were able to share with the community, the challenges, expectations and vision
of the future. The personal interviews were a great opportunity to feel closely
the personal and community rhythm.
A very fruitful visit that opens doors to new opportunities.
