Solidarity International on Tour!

The De La Salle Foundation Solidarity International visits the De La Salle Schools in Italy

Do you know how big the Lasallian family is? Seventy-nine countries worldwide, more than a thousand schools and more than a million students!

That is the way in which we began every one of our meetings, workshops and games with the classes of the De La Salle schools of Italy.

Between the 28th and the 30th of January in Sicily, and beween the 11th and the 15th of February in Northern Italy, we did a tour with the aim of encouraging our students, parents and teachers to get involved in the great Lasallian international network of which they are a part and which is our strength and richness.

We undertook with them a voyage ‘beyond the frontiers’, in order to get to know the De La Salle schools in five continents, through photographs, videos and Skype calls, and we told them about the solidarity projects that the Institute carries out every year.

Referring to education for development, we explained how our Lasallian programmes correspond to the 17 aims of sustainable development identified by the United Nations for the year 2030, and we invited them to participate and become part of the change in the world!

Our thanks for the invitation and the marvelous welcome go to the Istituto San Luigi in Acireale, the Centro Giovanile Lasalliano in Regalbuto (EN), the Scuola La Salle Grugliasco (TO), the Istituto La Marmora in Biella (TO), the Collegio San Giuseppe in Torino, the Istituto Filippi La Salle in Vercelli, the Istituto San Giuseppe in Milano and in particular the Parents Association and the College San Luigi Gonzaga in Milano.

The tour was designed to be part of a broader action in progress which seeks to involve the schools in projects of solidarity and development. During the Christmas season, the De La Salle schools of Rome and the Istituto San Giuseppe in Milano participated in the Christmas educational workshops on development organised for primary classes.

The next stage will be the Easter workshops! They will be aimed at primary level classes, and registrations can be made by writing to

Throughout the year, we are happy to receive invitations to visit schools to meet the students in secondary level classes as well as teachers, parents and former pupils. For this, please write to the same address !
