Appointment of the Brother Visitor of the San Francisco New Orleans (SFNO) District for a second term

Brother Armin Luistro, Superior General of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, has appointed Brother José Nicolás ‘Nick’ González, FSC, for a second term as Visitor of the  District of San Francisco New Orleans (SFNO), from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2030. 

Brother Nick was born on 31 May 1962 in El Paso, Texas. He entered the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools in 1980, and the Novitiate on 15 August 1986, in Skaneateles, New York. He subsequently pronounced his perpetual vows on 1 June 1991 in his hometown.

He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in 1984 from the College of Santa Fe, and a Master’s Degree in 1995 from the same institution. 

Throughout his career, Brother Nick has served as a teacher and administrator in various schools within the District and in cities such as Santa Fe (New Mexico), El Paso (Texas), Denver (Colorado) and Tucson (Arizona), where in 2003 he founded and served as principal of San Miguel High School. 

Subsequently, after serving as Auxiliary Visitor of the SFNO District between 2019 and 2022, he was appointed Visitor in 2022, succeeding Brother Donald Johanson, FSC. 

As Visitor, Brother Nick is also Chair of the Board of Governors of the De La Salle Institute and of the Brothers’ District Council.
