Synod 2021 – 2023

The entire People of God has been called by Pope Francis to discern together the path of synodality that God expects of the Church at this historic moment. It is a question, then, of “walking together” and of asking ourselves: how does this “walking together” take place today in the Church and, as part of it, in our Lasallian Family? What steps does the Spirit invite us to take in order to grow in our “walking together”?

Through the Union of Superiors General (USG), we are also invited to reflect, discern, share and contribute our vision, our reality and our dreams to the established process of participation.

To this end, Brother Superior General has appointed Brother Rafa Matas, General Councillor, to lead our contributions to the USG document. All suggestions will be welcome when it comes to knowing how we are living the Synod in our local Church, in our communities, Districts, Regions as well as in the Institute and the Lasallian Family.

We have before us a precious challenge in which we can make our communion visible, taking part so that our mission and that of the whole Church responds to the needs and challenges of today.

As a Lasallian Family, for some time now we have had spaces in which to express our synodality: the Signum Fidei International Assembly, the International Assembly of Young Lasallians, the International Assembly of Young Brothers and the 46th General Chapter. Along with this, all that is involved in sharing life and mission in each Region, District and Lasallian community. Let us make the most of this Synod time to learn, to be attentive and to boost our sense of belonging.
