\"\"<\/a>The large building where you are now staying is the Generalate of the Brothers of the Christian Schools and is the official residence of the Brother Superior General and his Council<\/a>. It is from here that the De La Salle Institute is governed<\/a> and where the administration <\/a>of anything connected with the De La Salle Institute is supervised.<\/p>\n

During the 18th and 19th Centuries De La Salle Headquarters was in France (Rouen, Lyons, and Paris). Early in the 20th Century it was transferred to Belgium (Lembecq-les-Halles) and since 1937 it has been here in Rome.<\/p>\n

In addition to the usual facilities, you will find it pleasant to walk in the extensive grounds and gardens of the Generalate and to have a look at the items found in the museum to your left as you enter the main reception area. You might also like to say a prayer in the Chapel before the relics of St. John Baptist de La Salle<\/a>.<\/p>\n
