It has been more than six months since we launched the ICJM Consortium.\u00a0 I want to update the global Lasallian community on the developments since the launch.Another institution, <\/span>La Salle Centro Universitario Madrid<\/span><\/i>, came in as the newest member from the seven universities that constituted the Consortium at its launch.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Early this year, we announced the degree programs offered in the member institutions aligned with the specialized areas initially covered by the Consortium. We encouraged Brothers and partners to indicate their intent to enroll in any of these programs.\u00a0 The programs can be accessed at <\/span>https:\/\/www.lasalle.org\/en\/icjm-consortium-higher-degree-programs\/<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Among the programs listed, I would like to highlight one of the newest degrees directly related to or responding to the Institute’s Levadura project.\u00a0 This is the Master of Arts in Education, major in teaching in challenged areas.\u00a0 Offered by the University of St. La Salle (Bacolod, Philippines), the program aims to assist facilitators of learning in effectively performing their roles in areas that are culturally diverse, disadvantaged, and last-mile schools, among others.\u00a0 The program was developed in collaboration with four other higher education institutions in the Philippines and three European universities (Deusto and Bologna in Italy, Groningen in the Netherlands).<\/span><\/p>\n

Aside from disseminating the degree programs, the ICJM Consortium is working on short-term modules focusing on Lasallian formation, leadership development, pedagogical skills and learning innovation, and catechism and religious education. We hope to launch these short-term modules in the coming year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Once again, we would like to encourage Brothers and Lasallian partners to enlist in the degree programs offered by the ICJM Consortium institutions. Forms to indicate intent are available at <\/span>https:\/\/www.lasalle.org\/en\/icjm-consortium-higher-degree-programs\/<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
