Brother Armin Luistro, Superior General of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, has appointed Brother Jean Bosco Bigirimana <\/strong>as Brother in charge of the Rwanda Sector (in charge ad interim <\/em>of the Delegation), <\/strong>as from 11 December 2024.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Brother Jean Bosco was born in 1973 in the town of Ruhengeri, in the north of Rwanda. He entered the novitiate of the Brothers of the Christian Schools in Bobo Dioulasso, Burkina Faso, on 8 September 2000. Two years later, in 2002, he pronounced his first vows, and in 2009 he made his perpetual profession<\/strong>, thus confirming his commitment and consecration to God as a Lasallian religious.<\/p>\n

With regard to his formative career, Brother Jean Bosco has completed two degrees: one in Pedagogical and Religious Sciences<\/strong>, at the African Lasallian Centre (CELAF) in Abidjan, Ivory Coast (2005); and another in Modern Languages and Publishing<\/strong>, at the National University of Rwanda (2011).<\/p>\n

His Lasallian educational mission has also been closely linked to the professional training of primary school teachers, first as Academic Head at the De La Salle Teacher Training College in Byumba <\/strong>between 2005 and 2007, and then as Director <\/strong>of the same College between 2012 and 2015.<\/p>\n

After two periods as President of the Rwanda Delegation, Brother Jean Bosco Bigirimana will be the new Brother in charge of the Rwanda Sector, made up of 40 Brothers<\/strong>, six Lasallian communities <\/strong>– including the Postulancy community – and six works <\/strong>in which 151 lay Lasallians <\/strong>collaborate.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The works led by the Brothers of the Christian Schools in Rwanda benefit 2,742 people<\/strong>, mainly children and young people in vulnerable situations, as is the case in the La Salle Centre for street children <\/strong>(non-formal education) in Butar\u00e9.<\/p>\n

In Kigali, the capital city, La Salle Complex School <\/strong>offers Early Childhood and Primary Education, while in Byumba, La Salle Academy <\/strong>focuses on Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary education. There is also the Teacher Training College<\/strong>, which is recognised for its important contribution to the training of Primary School teachers.<\/p>\n

Similarly, La Salle School Kirenge <\/strong>in Kisaro focuses on Early Childhood and Primary Education, while Ecole d’Arts<\/em> <\/strong>in Nyundo excels in vocational and craft education for its students.<\/p>\n

We congratulate Brother Jean Bosco Bigirimana on the new mission that Divine Providence and the Institute have entrusted to him, thanking him for his ongoing service of leadership and animation in Rwanda.
