Pope Francis releases his prayer intention for the month of March 2025, and invites everyone to pray for \u201cfamilies in crisis\u201d, as he acknowledges that no family is perfect, but that when we forgive our family members, we can rediscover peace.<\/p>\n

Pope Francis’ monthly prayer intention this March is for \u201cfamilies in crisis\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Pope invited the Church to pray for this intention in this month’s The Pope Video, which is entrusted to the entire Catholic Church through the Pope\u2019s Worldwide Prayer Network.<\/p>\n

The images and audio in the video were prepared prior to the Holy Father’s arrival at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital on 14 February, where he continues his treatment for bilateral pneumonia.<\/p>\n

In the Pope Video for March, the Holy Father acknowledged the great difficulties facing families.<\/p>\n<\/div>

\u2018No such thing as a perfect family\u2019\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2><\/div>

\u201cWe all dream about a beautiful, perfect family. But, Pope Francis recognized, \u201cthere\u2019s no such thing as a perfect family\u201d, for each family \u201chas its own problems\u201d \u201cas well as its tremendous joys\u201d.<\/p>\n

While every member of the family is important because each is unique, the Pope lamented how often their differences cause conflict and painful wounds, as he suggests a solution.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe best medicine to heal the pain of a wounded family\u201d, he stressed, \u201cis forgiveness\u201d, adding that forgiveness requires giving our family members \u201canother chance\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cGod\u201d, Pope Francis pointed out, \u201cdoes this with us all the time\u201d. Reminding that God\u2019s patience is infinite, the Holy Father reminded how He \u201cforgives us, lifts us up, and gives us a new start\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Renewing the family through forgiveness<\/strong><\/h2><\/div>

In the same way, the Pope suggested, pardoning one another \u201calways renews the family\u201d and makes \u201cit look forward with hope\u201d.<\/p>\n

Even when there\u2019s no possibility of the \u201chappy ending\u201d we\u2019d like, he noted, God\u2019s grace gives us the strength to forgive.<\/p>\n

Doing so, he explained, \u201cbrings peace\u201d, because \u201cit frees us from sadness, and, above all, from resentment\u201d.<\/p>\n

Pope Francis concluded by saying, \u201cLet us pray that broken families might discover the cure for their wounds through forgiveness, rediscovering each other\u2019s gifts, even in their differences\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>
