With these words, Brother Rafael Cer\u00f3n, General Councillor of the Institute, has appreciated the Lasallian mission in Amazonia, on the triple border between Brazil, Colombia and Peru.<\/p>\n<p>During his most recent visit to the community of Brothers and volunteers in Tabatinga, accompanied by Brother Vinicio Gonz\u00e1lez, Secretary General of the Lasallian Region of Latin America (RELAL), Brother Rafael had the opportunity to talk and share with those who are finishing and those starting their service in this particular Lasallian mission, considered to be <strong>\u201ca forward post\u201d in the Region, because of its service to those most in need. <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-2\"><p> https:\/\/youtube.com\/shorts\/hSIP5g1B5mE?feature=share <\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-separator fusion-full-width-sep\" style=\"align-self: center;margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;margin-top:10px;margin-bottom:10px;width:100%;\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-3\"><p>\u201cThe greatest learning that I take from the experience here in Tabatinga is to <strong>have discovered the flowing life of the Amazonian Indigenous people, of the people who live here, where they have definitely<\/strong> integrated from very remote times to nature, to the spirit of the rainforest\u201d, declares Brother Marco Salazar, summing up his work during the last few years, underlining that, from the ecclesial point of view, it has been \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lasalle.org\/en\/tabatinga-a-lasallian-experience-of-synodality-in-the-heart-of-amazonia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">an enormous learning of synodality<\/a>, of operating with missionaries, with priests, with lay people, with religious men and women &#8230; a very rich experience\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-1 fusion-sep-none fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-two\" style=\"--awb-text-color:var(--awb-custom12);--awb-font-size:24px;\"><h2 class=\"fusion-title-heading title-heading-left\" style=\"margin:0;font-size:1em;\"><strong>Pastoral Ministry of Vocations<\/strong><\/h2><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-4\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-109057 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasalle.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Tabatinga-5-300x140.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"140\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasalle.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Tabatinga-5-200x93.jpeg 200w, https:\/\/www.lasalle.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Tabatinga-5-300x140.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.lasalle.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Tabatinga-5-400x187.jpeg 400w, https:\/\/www.lasalle.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Tabatinga-5-600x280.jpeg 600w, https:\/\/www.lasalle.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Tabatinga-5-768x358.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.lasalle.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Tabatinga-5-800x373.jpeg 800w, https:\/\/www.lasalle.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Tabatinga-5-1200x560.jpeg 1200w, https:\/\/www.lasalle.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/Tabatinga-5.jpeg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>In this regard, the bishop of the Brazilian diocese of Alto Solim\u00f5es, Mgr. Adolfo Zon Pereira, particularly appreciates the fact that \u201c<strong>our pastoral ministry of vocations has begun a process of accompanying young people in their vocational journey<\/strong>, It was a treasurable moment that is helping us to promote local vocations a little more\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>One of Brother Daniel Ni\u00f1o&#8217;s contributions over the last three years has been precisely in the formative, pastoral and vocational accompaniment processes.\u00a0 Taking stock of the path he has journeyed, he states, \u201c<strong>the<\/strong> <strong>greatest learning has come from contact with the indigenous peoples. <\/strong>Meeting these people who bring with them a whole ancestral background, a whole series of experiences of spirituality, has made me rediscover God from different aspects\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Jonhatan Stiven Olarte also agrees, pointing out that \u201cOne of the things I have learned from my experience as a volunteer in the community of La Salle Tabatinga is to recognise God in my neighbour, in the affection that the people give us, in sharing with the native peoples; and this has been very important for my personal development and for my vocational and professional search\u201d. \u201c<strong>I am very happy with the community experience, to feel &#8220;part of&#8221; and to get to know more deeply the De La Salle Brothers who welcomed me with open doors\u201d<\/strong>, he adds.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>In the case of Brother Jes\u00fas Emmanuel Villegas, taking part in the mission of the Church in Tabatinga has lead him to &#8220;be attentive, to get to know, to see and to be able to act with the people we live with&#8221;, especially in the face of the call<strong> \u201cto take care of our common home and to be brothers of all for all\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-2 fusion-sep-none fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-two\" style=\"--awb-text-color:var(--awb-custom12);--awb-font-size:24px;\"><h2 class=\"fusion-title-heading title-heading-left\" style=\"margin:0;font-size:1em;\"><strong>Moving away from our familiar structures<\/strong><\/h2><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-5\"><p>Brother Marco highlights, \u201c<strong>from the Lasallian point of view, it was also an experience of going out, of moving away from our familiar structures<\/strong>\u201d,\u00a0 \u201cwe are opening ourselves up to a different way of responding to the mission, to the great needs that exist here\u201d, a region that has been strongly impacted by violence, human trafficking and drug trafficking, among other realities that continue to be a great challenge.<\/p>\n<p>For his part, Brother Mauricio G\u00f3mez S\u00e1nchez, who has joined the community this year, shared his expectations in terms of hope: \u201c<strong>My hope in this journey is to get to know and appreciate the Amazonian face of the Church<\/strong>.
