We were also able to get trained in <strong>\u00a0topics such as transparency, accountability<\/strong>, the \u2018<em>mensuram bonam\u2019<\/em> [evaluating financial instruments from the perspective of faith and ethics], structures to sustain the mission, supportive economy, economy in the peripheries and economy on a scale\u201d, remarked Brother Sergio Leal, Bursar General of the Institute, highlighting the importance of \u201cbalancing and sizing Economy and Theology\u201d, a topic that was addressed by Alessandro Pellizzari during the first day of the meeting.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-1 fusion-sep-none fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-two\" style=\"--awb-text-color:var(--awb-custom17);--awb-font-size:24px;\"><h2 class=\"fusion-title-heading title-heading-left\" style=\"margin:0;font-size:1em;\"><strong>Synergies and learning<\/strong><\/h2><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-2\"><p>In addition to fostering synergies between the bursars and the Offices and governance bodies of the Institute, in terms of priorities, needs and resource management, the meeting allowed the sharing of \u201ccase studies\u201d and \u201cpractical cases\u201d as <strong>learning opportunities to enable an economy at the service of the charism and the mission<\/strong>, encouraging \u201cresponsibility, sustainability and solidarity, with special attention to fragile Districts\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Hence the need to form networks of local, national and regional bursars, as was stressed during the days of reflection. \u201c<strong>How can we collaborate with each another to exercise what Brother Superior General calls <\/strong>\u2018<strong>cross-pollination<\/strong>\u2019\u201d, asked Brother Sergio, while suggesting that \u201cthe challenge we face from now on is to continue training ourselves in different ways and in collaboration with the network of Lasallian universities\u201d. \u201cWe also have the challenge of continuing to connect with agents of our Lasallian Family, such as CBIS<em>-Christian Brothers Investment Services-<\/em>and with <em>1LaSalle<\/em>, the global initiative\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong>We seek greater communion, collaboration and solidarity at Regional levels, with prophetically audacious leadership committed to reality<\/strong>, with transparent and accountable systems of accountability, and without losing sight of the need to move out of comfort zones and into the peripheries\u201d, said Br Carlos G\u00f3mez, Vicar General, evoking the call of the 46<sup>th<\/sup> General Chapter to be \u201cgood and faithful stewards of talents and creation\u201d, the invitation of the 46<sup>th<\/sup> General Chapter to \u201cleverage the human and financial resources of the Institute in order to guarantee the sustainability of the Lasallian mission\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In this sense, the role of the bursars regarding the Leavening Movement is also crucial. This topic was deepened by Brother Mart\u00edn Digilio, General Councillor, who underlined that \u201cthe future of our economy lies in synodality and cross-pollination\u201d, so that \u201cwe can no longer operate in isolation, but must walk together, sharing resources, knowledge and expertise. Financial interdependence is an expression of our vocation as a Lasallian Family and a key tool to ensure that all communities can flourish and fulfil the mission of educating, evangelising and transforming society\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMay we know how to administer not only with efficiency, but also with tenderness, so that every coin invested becomes a seed of the Kingdom among the poorest\u201d, Brother Mart\u00edn concluded.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-3\"><p>See below in #LaSalleOrgShortNews the report of Br.
