On 19 September 2025, on the opening day of the working year for all employees and Brothers of the Generalate, the appointment by the Superior General, Br. Armin Luistro, of <\/span>Br. Peter Ryan <\/b>as <\/span>Procurator General<\/b>* of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools was presented and applauded. He officially took up his post on 1 September 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

Brother Peter was born in Australia in 1962. He belongs to the District of Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea (ANZPPNG).\u00a0He received the habit in 1983, made his first vows in 1985 and his perpetual vows in 1990.<\/span><\/p>\n

He holds a Doctorate in Ministry from <\/span>Fordham University <\/span><\/i>in New York. He also holds a Master of Theology from <\/span>Sydney College of Divinity <\/span><\/i>and a Master of Education from <\/span>Australian Catholic University<\/span><\/i>. He has participated in international Lasallian studies programmes, such as the CIL in Rome and the Buttimer Institute (RELAN).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Brother Peter has served as a teacher, administrator and director in various apostolates in Australia and New Zealand. He has also been community director, District council member and chapter secretary, Chair of three District ministries, director of Yourtown and member of the District Safeguarding committee.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Brother Peter has also taught Systematic Theology and Christian Spirituality at the <\/span>Catholic Theological College <\/span><\/i>in Auckland, New Zealand, and served as Dean of Studies at <\/span>Holy Cross National Seminary <\/span><\/i>in Auckland, New Zealand. He moved to Rome in February 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

Brother Peter remarked on his appointment, “I thank Brother Superior and the General Council for the trust they have placed in me, and I accept this appointment with humility and a spirit of service, trusting in God’s grace and the support of my Brothers.”<\/span><\/p>\n

* The Procurator General is the <\/span>legal and canonical representative <\/b>of the Congregation to the Holy See.
