On the occasion of the election of <\/span>Brother Peter Carroll<\/span><\/a> as the 15<\/span>th <\/span>Superior General of the Institute of the Marist Brothers of Champagnat, Brother Armin Luistro, Superior General of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, together with the General Council, sent a message of congratulations, recognising “the great responsibility entrusted to you as the principal leader of the life of the Institute and of the vibrant Marist mission and tradition in many parts of the world”.<\/span><\/p>\n

Brother Peter’s election took place on 30 September during the XXIII General Chapter of the Marist Brothers in Tagaytay (Philippines). His term, together with his leadership team, will be eight years (2025-2033), succeeding Brother Ernesto S\u00e1nchez Barba, to whom Brother Armin also expressed his gratitude “for his fraternal, close leadership” and “his spiritual, missionary and charismatic richness”.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Expressing his gratitude “for the significant steps we have been able to take together to bring our Institutes closer together and to be able to count today on community and missionary projects in which our charisms merge and bring to light the treasure we carry: BEING BROTHERS”, Brother Armin highlighted that “fraternity is our greatest contribution to a world that desperately needs peace, hope and the fulfilment of the Gospel mandate to be brothers and sisters to one another”.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In this regard, noting that “in recent years, the two Institutes have made significant progress in strengthening our bonds, consolidating shared projects and working together,” as is the case with the <\/span>Fratelli Projects in Lebanon and Maicao<\/span><\/a>, Brother Armin also expressed to his counterpart, Brother Peter, that “new apostolic initiatives will undoubtedly arise, along with possible joint formation projects that could be planned in the coming years”.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
