In Colombia, on Saturday 25 April 2026, <\/span>Brothers Jes\u00fas Daniel Mosquera T\u00e9llez and Juan Diego Ram\u00edrez Gualdr\u00f3n, of the Lasallian District of Bogot\u00e1, will say their definitive \u2018yes\u2019 to God as Brothers of the Christian Schools<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The celebration of their Perpetual Vows will take place in the Chapel of Our Lady of the Star, at Universidad de La Salle in Bogot\u00e1, and will be attended by <\/span>Brother Armin Luistro<\/b>, Superior General, and <\/span>Brother Rafael Cer\u00f3n<\/b>, General Councillor, as well as a significant group of Brothers and Lasallians from the District of Bogot\u00e1.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>

\u201cGod calls me to live in communion\u201d<\/b><\/h2><\/div>

\"\"Brother Jes\u00fas Daniel was born in Gigante (Huila), in south-western Colombia, on 24 December 1996. <\/span>He is a graduate of the <\/b>Escuela Normal Superior,<\/i><\/b> Gigante<\/b>, where he first met the De La Salle Brothers.<\/span><\/p>\n

With the support of his parents \u2013 Deysi T\u00e9llez and Ovidio Mosquera \u2013 he began his formation at the Postulancy of <\/span>San Jos\u00e9 de Guausa<\/span><\/i> (Ch\u00eda, Cundinamarca) in January 2015. He subsequently continued his vocational journey at the Pre-Novitiate at the <\/span>Liceo Hermano Miguel<\/span><\/i> in Bogot\u00e1, and <\/span>entered the Novitiate in Costa Rica on 8 December 2017<\/b>. Between 2019 and 2021, he completed his Scholasticate, once again in Bogot\u00e1, joining the communities of the District Educational Institutions <\/span>Juan Luis Londo\u00f1o<\/span><\/i> first, and later <\/span>Rogelio Salmona<\/span><\/i>, whilst completing his Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Religious Education at Universidad de La Salle.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMy convictions as a Lasallian religious stem from the certainty that the Triune God calls me to live in communion, to <\/span>make my life a gift to others <\/b>and to proclaim his love, especially through education\u201d, says Brother Jes\u00fas Daniel.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI believe deeply in the dignity of every person, in the transformative power of education, and in <\/span>fraternity as a concrete way of making the Kingdom of God visible<\/b>\u201d, he adds.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That is why, as a religious educator, he wishes <\/span>to be a sign of hope for the poorest children and young people<\/b>: \u201cI long to form sensitive hearts, critical minds and spirits open to God; I dream of educational communities where fraternity, justice and care for life are breathed, where every student discovers they are loved and capable of transforming their reality. I also dream of an authentic, community-based life, where daily sharing is a witness to faith, joy and dedication, because \u2018our greatest secret and treasure is being Brothers\u2019\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

These dreams have taken shape <\/b>in the various educational institutions where he has served as a teacher and pastoral coordinator, such as the <\/span>Polit\u00e9cnico \u00c1lvaro Gonz\u00e1lez Santana <\/span><\/i>\u00a0in the city of Sogamoso between 2022 and 2024, and now at the <\/span>Instituci\u00f3n Educativa Dante Alighieri<\/span><\/i> in San Vicente del Cagu\u00e1n \u2013 in the Colombian Amazon \u2013 where he serves as Coordinator of Coexistence and Human Development.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>

\u201cTo inspire a desire to live and love life, to discover that we are brothers and sisters\u201d<\/b><\/h2><\/div>

\"\"For his part, Brother Juan Diego is originally from the border town of C\u00facuta, near Venezuela, where he was born on 10 March 1999. There <\/span>he studied at the <\/b>Instituci\u00f3n Educativa Sagrado Coraz\u00f3n de Jes\u00fas <\/i><\/b>\u2013 run by the Brothers of the Christian Schools \u2013 from which he graduated with a Technical Baccalaureate in Multimedia Design and Integration in 2015.<\/span><\/p>\n

He entered the Postulancy in 2016 \u2013 also in <\/span>San Jos\u00e9 de Guausa <\/span><\/i>\u2013 and spent the following two years in the Pre-Novitiate at the <\/span>Liceo Hermano Miguel<\/span><\/i>. <\/span>In January 2019, he began his year of formation at the Novitiate in Costa Rica<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After carrying out his educational and pastoral ministry in the communities of <\/span>Juan Luis Londo\u00f1o <\/span><\/i>(2020), <\/span>Rogelio Salmona<\/span><\/i> (2021) and the <\/span>Liceo Hermano Miguel<\/span><\/i> (2022), during his Scholasticate, when he also earned a Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Religious Education, Br. Juan Diego <\/span>was a teacher and coordinator at the <\/b>Instituci\u00f3n Educativa Dante Alighieri<\/i><\/b>.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

He is currently a member of the Brothers\u2019 Community in Tijuana, Baja California (Mexico), where he teaches at the <\/span>Centro de Formaci\u00f3n Integral La Salle<\/span><\/i>, linked to <\/span>the Leavening Movement<\/i><\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAt this stage of my life, I have decided to consecrate myself to God \u2018entirely\u2019 and for the rest of my life\u201d, states Brother Juan Diego with conviction, recalling an inspiring phrase attributed to Fyodor Dostoevsky: \u201c<\/span>The secret of human existence lies not merely in living, but in knowing why one lives<\/b>\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAfter my experience in <\/span>El Cagu\u00e1n<\/span><\/i> and the one I am living in Mexico, what allows me today to consecrate myself to God for the rest of my life is knowing why I live, it is knowing that I have the chance to inspire others with the desire to live and love life, to dream and work towards those dreams, to build and grow with others, to stop seeing one another as enemies and discover that we are brothers, to <\/span>raise awareness that another world is possible<\/b>, that another Colombia is possible\u201d, continues the young religious.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI deeply hope <\/span>that my life as a Brother will continue to be that answer to the question of why I live <\/b>and, in this way, continue to be, perhaps for someone, a reason to live and to hope\u201d, concludes Br. Juan Diego.<\/span><\/p>\n

As Lasallians<\/span>,<\/b> we give thanks to God, together with the District of Bogot\u00e1, for the final profession to the Lord of Brothers Jes\u00fas Daniel Mosquera and Juan Diego Ram\u00edrez<\/b>. We ask Saint John Baptist de La Salle to intercede so that their evangelical and vocational journeys may continue to be strengthened, from commitment to commitment.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>
