\"\"<\/span>How can the experience of Lasallian International Volunteer Ministry change a person\u2019s life? In the second episode of the series \u201cFraternity Without Borders\u201d, which focuses on Marc Sidhom\u2019s experience with\u00a0 <\/span>Lasallian International Volunteer Ministry <\/span><\/a>\u2013<\/span><\/a> and, more specifically, <\/span>CasArcobaleno <\/span><\/i>in the Scampia neighbourhood of Naples (Italy)<\/span><\/a> \u2013 the young man, who was born in Egypt, comments that \u201cthere are times when I need a little push of courage to do something, to reach out to someone. And <\/span>when I need that courage, I remember the experience I had in Scampia<\/b>\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>

Experiencing Lasallian Fraternity<\/b><\/h2><\/div>

\"\"Marc\u2019s experience was also shaped by the fraternity that characterises the Lasallian Family. By sharing life with a vulnerable community, within the community led by the Brothers of the Christian Schools who run the work in Scampia, he met Brother Enrico M\u00fcller, an Italian Brother who, according to Marc, <\/span>\u201cwas always there to accompany and encourage us <\/b>(\u2026). And with his kind smile, he always made us feel that we were doing something useful\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBrother Enrico taught me to set boundaries and to know how to be firm [with the children] at certain times. But, at the same time, <\/span>to give love and to be kind<\/b>\u201d, adds Marc. \u201cHe taught me to balance both, and it was truly inspiring\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>

\u201cVolunteer Ministry is for everyone\u201d<\/b><\/h2><\/div>

His advice for anyone considering the possibility of taking part in a Lasallian International Volunteer Ministry experience is \u201cjust go for it! Don\u2019t overthink it. <\/span>Volunteer Ministry is truly for everyone; especially within the Lasallian network, everyone is welcome<\/b>. And it\u2019s really wonderful. You go in thinking you\u2019re going to offer yourself, to give of yourself, and in fact you receive so much more than you give\u201d, he concludes.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>
