On Sunday 16 August 2026, at the conclusion of the annual spiritual retreat, 31 Brothers from the International Scholasticate, Nairobi, in Kenya renewed their vows as Brothers of the Christian Schools, in the presence of Br Betre Fisseha, Visitor of the Lwanga District, and the formator Brothers, as well as other Brothers from the Lasallian communities in Nairobi.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Prior to this, from 8 to 15 August, the Scholasticate community had taken part in the annual retreat at Tabor Hill, a pastoral centre belonging to the Diocese of Nyahururu, accompanied by their formators and under the spiritual guidance of Passionist priest Kevin Ndaho, who served as preacher throughout the days of personal and communal prayer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe atmosphere, the natural surroundings and the setting as a whole \u2013 despite the cold \u2013 fostered encounters amongst the Brothers, who shared their experiences during walks in small groups or during moments of personal reflection with their companions\u201d, remarked Brother Paulo Petry, Director of the Scholasticate.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a result of this experience of profound spiritual renewal, in which the Scholastic Brothers reflected on how to put into practice the vows of Association for the service of the poor through education and of Stability in the Institute \u2013 two of the five vows professed by the De La Salle Brothers, alongside the vows of Obedience, Chastity and Poverty \u2013 with a view to renewing their commitment to the Lasallian Educational Mission, \u201cworking together\u201d, they have produced a video which we are making available to the whole Lasallian Family.<\/span><\/p>\n
