On 21 September, the world celebrates the <\/span>International Day of Peace<\/span><\/a>, and for the Lasallian Family this marks the start of the <\/span>International Lasallian Days of Peace <\/b>(ILDP), which, as in previous years, will run for a month, until 21 October. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>

A more fraternal world<\/b><\/h2><\/div>

\u201cThis year, we invite you to join us under the theme \u2018<\/span>Peace, Piece by Piece: Building a more fraternal world<\/b>\u2019\u201d, urges the team of volunteers for the ILDP 2026, recalling that \u201cat this time, our global Lasallian Family comes together to celebrate our shared commitment to peace: a time to reflect, to come together across borders and, above all, to transform our commitment into specific actions\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes peace may seem like an unattainable ideal, especially in a world marked by conflict, divisions and uncertainty. However, peace begins with us. It is a patient, day-to-day endeavour: <\/span>peace is built through a small gesture, an encounter, a relationship\u2026 one \u2018piece\u2019 at a time<\/b>\u201d, explains the organising team for the ILDP 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n

Inspired by <\/span>Lasallian Reflection 12<\/span><\/a> \u2013 proposed for the period 2026-2027 \u2013, the theme of this year\u2019s International Lasallian Peace Days \u201creminds us that <\/span>when we walk alongside one another, distances are narrowed and bridges are built\u201d,<\/b> making it possible to build a fraternal and peaceful world.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>

Build bridges where there is distance.
\n<\/i><\/strong>Choose to come together where there is division.
\n<\/i><\/strong>Listen where voices struggle to be heard.
\n<\/i><\/strong>Take a step towards others.
\n<\/i><\/strong>And invite others to walk alongside you.<\/i><\/strong><\/p><\/h2><\/div>

Building peace step by step<\/b><\/h2><\/div>

\u201cThat is why we want to encourage Young Lasallians across the Institute to <\/span>take small but meaningful steps towards others <\/b>and, together, become peacemakers\u201d, adds the team of volunteers for ILDP 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n

Convinced that no single action on its own will build a fraternal world, but <\/span>that thousands of small actions carried out by Lasallians across our global network can make a difference<\/b>, the ILDP 2026 organising team is confident that these sessions \u201cwill remind us that peace begins with each one of us, that our efforts continue to inspire one another, as global Lasallian Family, to build a more peaceful and fraternal world, piece by piece\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe extend a special invitation to Young Lasallians around the world to bring this vision to life and become <\/span>artisans of peace who promote a culture of encounter<\/b>\u201d.
