The goals\nof the three days were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1408\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasalle.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/DSC_0176-1408x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-67565\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasalle.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/DSC_0176-300x218.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.lasalle.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/DSC_0176-768x559.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.lasalle.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/DSC_0176-1408x1024.jpg 1408w, https:\/\/www.lasalle.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/DSC_0176-1536x1117.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1408px) 100vw, 1408px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>To value the uniqueness of each of our schools based on a genuine commitment to the lasallian educational mission in loyal community with the larger network of schools within VLP.<br><\/li><li>To acquire a stronger interiorisation of the lasallian mission and its present day challenges.<br><\/li><li>To appreciate a participative school policy as an added value specific to the school and to our lasallian network.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Each and every school has its own\nstory, based on the schoolcontext, but all our schools have one story in common\n\u2013 the founding story of Jean-Baptiste De La Salle. The challenges De La Salle\nfaced in his time could only be adressed by a community of people who called\nthemselves brothers, associated for the transformative human and Christian\neducation of the young, especially the poor. Today in our schools the Brothers have\ndisappeared, lay teachers have entered the schools and the school policy. From\ntheir dedication to education, they work together and in mutual solidarity on\nan educational project that offers opportunities and creates a world which is more\nbeautiful, more tolerant and warmer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Together we\u2019ve reflected upon\nthis dedication as a vocation, as a work we do together and in association.\nLectures, workshops, silent and guided meditation, reflections in the school\nteam and exchanges with other school teams brought us, as a group, closer to\nour mission. If we want to work in favour of the most vulnerable, we must be\nable to hear their voices in our schools. This demands an inclusive school\nculture, and a participative school policy, based on the charism of our\nfounder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1699\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lasalle.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/DSC_0192-1699x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-67561\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lasalle.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/DSC_0192-300x181.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.lasalle.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/DSC_0192-768x463.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.lasalle.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/DSC_0192-1536x926.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.lasalle.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/DSC_0192-1699x1024.jpg 1699w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1699px) 100vw, 1699px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>But we\u2019ve also celebrated the tricentenary.\nAn exhibition of artworks on \u2018being a lasallian school today\u2019 was opened in the\npresence of Brs. Alberto Gomez and Herman Lombaerts. Fourteen artworks were\npresented, created by fourteen different teams of artists \u2013 teachers, pupils,\nheadmasters, members of the schoolboard and professional advisors \u2013 each with its\nown connection to the lasallian mission and its own language to express it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the end of the journey each school of our network received a new symbol of their belonging to the network of lasallian schools in Belgium North: a bright lasallian star, shining for the next decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The first lasallian schools<\/strong> were established in Saint-Hubert <strong>in 1791<\/strong>. Others in 1815 and in 1830 (after Belgium became indipendent). The belgian district was officially Founded in 1834 and in 1840 there were 124 Brothers in the schools. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the second half of the 20<sup>th<\/sup> century,\na crisis of religious vocations affected the District. In fact is now a\nDelegation. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the moment there are<strong> 44 Brothers<\/strong> and <strong>2,168 teachers<\/strong> (<strong>1,584 women<\/strong> and 5<strong>84 men<\/strong>).
