We were filled with\nthe Holy Spirit, the love of God and Lasallian values, as we followed the\nretreat with joy and enthusiasm in the spirit of the Lasallian charism.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our spiritual retreat for the Lasallian Jubilee was organized by the National Leadership Team of Signum Fidei, Chile (ENAFSF), with the support of Brother Olavo Jos\u00e9 Dalvit, Visitor of Brazil-Chile, Brother Paco Chiva <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lasalle.org\/en\/animacion-y-gobierno\/secretariat-for-association-and-mission\/blog-asociacion-y-mision\/\">Co-Secretary for Lasallian Association<\/a>, Brother Juan Baez, National Advisor for Signum Fidei Chile and Director of the Sagrada Familia Community, and Brother Mario Silva Pardo, Rector of the Colegio La Salle &#8211; La Reina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition,\nour retreat was given a boost by the message from Brother Robert Schieler, Superior General, which\nwas read to us, and by the presence of Brother Olavo Jos\u00e9 Dalvit, Visitor, and\nof our own dear Brother Rodolfo Andaur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There were 23 participants from the local Fraternities of Colegio\nde La Salle &#8211; La Reina, Colegio La Salle de San Gregorio, Colegio Agust\u00edn\nEdwards de Valpara\u00edso, and from the Santa Rosa de Lima Fraternity in La\nFlorida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also present were Brothers Sergio Moreno, Enrique Garc\u00eda\nand Mario Silva.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was a retreat that was filled with symbolism and fraternity,\nand it was led by our permanent deacon for <em>Signum\nFidei<\/em>, Hugo Santib\u00e1\u00f1ez Osorio. The main focus was on the figure of the Holy\nFounder and on the plenary indulgences granted by Pope Francis. In light of\ncurrent events in our society, we sought the Founder\u2019s intercession for our\ncountry and for all of the Lasallian families of Chile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There was an atmosphere\nof unity and association and time for spiritual peace, which filled our hearts\nwith with hope for the future of our <em>Signum\nFidei<\/em> Fraternity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are grateful\nto Brother Robert Schieler, Superior General, for his message encouraging us to\ncontinue to build the Kingdom of God through Faith, Service and Fraternity\naccording to the Lasallian Charism&nbsp; &#8220;being sent to proclaim the\nKingdom of God with one heart, one commitment and one life, as faithful\ndisciples of Jesus Christ and as witnesses who will attract Lasallian vocations.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are also grateful to Brother Paco Chiva\nfrom the Secretariat for Lasallian Association who encouraged us to be\nwitnesses of Christian community, testifying to the values to which Jesus calls\nus and to a real encounter with Jesus and with the unwanted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And of course we thank Brother\nOlavo Jos\u00e9 Dalvit, Visitor of Brazil-Chile for his message: &#8220;Be signs of\nfaith throughout the world. Be signs of faith in a world in turmoil, testifying\nto what Our Lord has taught us&#8230; Be signs of faith and of zeal for a better\nsociety. Be significant people for those who are entrusted to our care in our\nfamilies, our work, our misi\u00f3n, and in our lives.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We thank Brother\nRodolfo Andaur for his support, his collaboration and his words of reflection, and\nlikewise Brother Juan Baez, our National Assessor, for his input as a witness\nof faith in Lasallian values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\npray that the Holy Spirit may enkindle in our hearts\nthe fire of his love so that in our Local Fraternities\nwe may live our vocation to service\nwith enthusiasm as well as our mission to which we are called as members of the\nSignum Fidei Fraternity of Chile, by continuing to work for the Kingdom of God and\nby sharing the Lasallian experience of true fraternity\nwith our brothers and sisters in greatest need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are\ngrateful for having been given this opportunity to experience true Lasallian Fraternity\n&#8220;Together and by Association.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-large-font-size\"><em><strong>Live, Jesus, in our Hearts!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>The first Brothers arrived in Chile, to learn about the situation facing them, in October <strong>1876<\/strong>: Brother Yon Jos\u00e9 accompanied by Brother Adri\u00e9n of Jes\u00fas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On May 1, 1877, they took over the St. Vincent de Paul Workshop School,\nwhich had been founded on October 28, 1855 in the hope that the Brothers would\ncome. (The first mention of a request for Brothers is of one made in December\n1855 in a session of the St. Vincent de Paul Conference). The Community was joined\nby Brothers Amadeo (who arrived in Santiago on 11 April 1877), Jucondus,\nTe\u00f3filo and Donatoris (who all came from Liverpool and arrived on 19 April).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, there are <strong>seven establishments<\/strong> located in three cities: Santiago (4), Talca (1) and Temuco (2). Of these, three are absolutely free, one has a shared subsidy and three are fee-paying. Of the seven, four are co-education (boys and girls) and three are for boys only. There are currently five communities, comprising <strong>19 members<\/strong> (15 Chileans, one Spaniard and three Brazilians).
