We wish to express our deep concern for the recent events in Lebanon. On the afternoon of April 8, a sudden series of attacks occurred, resulting in hundreds of deaths. In just 10 minutes over 100 sites were targeted.

Regarding our schools, we are relieved to report that there has been no direct impact on our students, their families, or the school buildings. All schools are currently on their Easter break, which began on April 2 and continues until April 14.

Lasallians in the field continue to support students in their vulnerability during these circumstances, providing guidance and care to help them cope with the ongoing crisis.

The Fratelli Project, implemented together with the Marist Brothers in Lebanon, had reopened but had to close again due to the attacks; it is now proceeding with the activation of distance learning to ensure continuity of education.

We are closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available.

With hope and faith, we are united with all those affected by this crisis. We remain committed to supporting our communities and students during these difficult times.

We also pray for the swift cessation of the attacks, for peace to return, and for the young people and children in the area to be able to live a life where their right to peace, education, and a bright future is fully ensured.
