A month-long Pre final profession retreat took place in at the Redemptorist Retreat Center in Ibadan, Nigeria. Participated in the retreat are four Brothers from Nigeria (Br. Chika Igwebuike, Br. Louis Lilm, Br. Daniel Makama and Br. Emmanuel Aondohemba Tyokase), one from Kenya (Br. Ontita Aron Mboga), and one from Mozambique (Br. Manuel Luis Fernando).
Brothers animating and coordinating logistics at the retreat are Brothers Moses Abunya, Auxiliary Visitor of the Lwanga District, and Belayneh Medhanit, board chair for Lasallian educational works in Ethiopia. Presenters for the retreat include, Br. Carlos Gomez, the Institute’s Vicar General, Br. Pierre Ouattara, former General Council for Relaf, Br. Armand Alcazar, Br. Dylan Perry, Br. Michael French, and an old student of the Brothers in Nigeria, who is the Provincial superior of the Augustinian Fathers in Nigeria, Fr Anthony Ikechukwu Kanu, OSA.
Following the conclusion of the retreat on the 29th of July, participating Brothers will make a brief visit to the La Salle community in Ondo before returning to Lagos and departing from Nigeria on the 1st of August.
The Vicar General, Br Carlos made a brief Visit to Ondo School and community on arrival to the country and made a presentation to the Brothers and Associates, even before heading to the retreat center. Br Carlos offered two days of input to the group and journey individually with the six Brothers preparing for their final profession.
