Commission on Justice and Peace

For the Lasallian Family, educating for justice and peace entails accepting that “the Lasallian educational and evangelical mission finds a way of living its deepest meaning through a pedagogy of fraternity that ensures equity, inclusion and belonging in all our communities” (46th General Chapter).

In this way, the Commission on Justice and Peace reaffirms the commitment of Lasallian institutions and educational centres to justice, peace and the integrity of creation, with an explicit commitment to the poor and the care of our ‘Common Home’, recognising their ‘cries’ and undertaking bold and prophetic initiatives with those on the peripheries, as part of the Leavening Movement.

To this end, it is necessary to define tools and mediations so that members of the Lasallian Family—agents of justice and peace—assume the imperative of “educating for justice across the curriculum, to take seriously their civic and political responsibilities, and the call to be advocates for creating peace, justice, and the integrity of creation.” (46th General Chapter).
