The 14th edition of the International Lasallian University Leadership Program comes to a close after two weeks of intensive sharing, reflecting and creating community within the Lasallian global network of Higher Education.

With participation of 25 universities representing the 5 Lasallian Regions of higher education, this year’s cohort came together to support international collaboration efforts through formation and enrichment and in order to fulfil the expectation that participants return to their home communities to be resource persons, mentors, and animators of the Lasallian Mission in higher education.

The integration of the shared experiences with the Lasallian world and the world at large is also a key component of the program and the 2023 Rome Program community were able to learn and identify how to connect Lasallian spirituality and heritage with agendas such as the Global Compact on Education, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and Laudato Si, among others.

Participants have had the experience to spend two weeks at the Generalate of the Brothers of the Christian Schools and have interacted with leaders of the Institute and of the International Association of La Salle Universities, as well as each other. To that end, the program consists of both interactive and experiential sessions that have touched the hearts and minds of all involved.

Carlos Coelho, IALU’s Executive Director, expressed his happiness with the results of the 2023 edition of the program, mentioning that after three years without being able to be presently together, the program has reaffirmed the need for continuation of these gatherings alongside the new virtual possibilities that are now available.
