The 46th General Chapter of the Brothers of the Christian Schools recognised that “for the Lasallian Family, the fruitful and prophetic journey of  Association for Mission is unfolding in diverse expressions and characteristics”. Furthermore, “Association for Mission complels us to widen the expression of community experiences, enrich our lived spirituality, and extend the limits of our Mission”.

From this perspective, the Signum Fidei International Fraternity held its 4th International Assembly on 26, 27 and 28 June 2026, in an online format, bringing together consecrated lay people and lay members from the various Lasallian Regions around the world, together with the Director of the Institute’s Office of Charismatic Family, Brother Mario Chiarapini, Brother Advisers and Brothers of the Christian Schools.

The meeting served as a special opportunity for prayer, discernment and fraternity, aimed at strengthening the fraternity’s identity and mission in the service of the Church and the world.

Synodal spirit

In this regard, the Assembly was marked by a profound synodal spirit, fostering listening, dialogue and the participation of all those present, with the Brothers’ presence making a significant contribution, strengthening communion within the Lasallian Charismatic Family. This was particularly evident on the third day, when we were joined by Br. Esteban de Vega, Visitor of the Arlep District (La Salle in Spain and Portugal), whose participation and fraternal warmth significantly enriched this gathering, further strengthening the bonds of communion and the sense of belonging within the Lasallian Family.

Similarly, one of the most significant moments was the tribute to Claudio Andreoli, a living example of fidelity and vocational continuity within the Fraternity, and the current International President of the Signum Fidei Fraternity.

Outcomes of the Assembly

Following the Assembly, one of the main outcomes was the unanimous approval of amendments to the document “Mission and Style of Life”, a fundamental text offering renewed guidance to strengthen the living out of consecration, fraternity and service. These updates aim to achieve greater coherence between the personal and community lives of its members, in keeping with the signs of the times.

Furthermore, the Assembly agreed to promote new formation processes and concrete actions aimed at strengthening fraternal life, support for communities and missionary outreach in the various contexts where the Fraternity is present.

The Assembly concluded by renewing its commitment to living out the Signum Fidei vocation with authenticity, hope and service to those most in need.
