Brother Armin Luistro, Superior General of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, has appointed Brother Claude Reinhardt as Visitor of the District of France and French-speaking Europe from 1 August 2026 to 31 July 2030.
Brother Claude Reinhardt was born on 3 September 1952 in Mulhouse (Alsace, France). Pupil of the Brothers in Épernay and then in Rheims, at the Pensionnat du Sacré-Cœur, he studied languages (English and German) at the University of Reims, while working as a boarding school educator and then as a young lay teacher at the Pensionnat du Sacré-Cœur in Rheims.
He entered the Brothers’ novitiate in 1980 and took his first vows in June 1982. Brother Claude then obtained a licentiate in theology from the Catholic Institute of Paris in 1986.
From 1986 to 1998, he carried out numerous educational missions as an English teacher, director of studies in a secondary school, pastoral coordinator (in Quimper), then Director of the Lycée Sainte-Barbe (St Étienne)…
Appointed Auxiliary Visitor to the District of France in 1998, he had to interrupt his term of office in 2000 when he was called by Brother Alvaro, Superior General, to be a General Councillor in Rome. He served two successive terms on the General Council until 2014.
Returning to Rheims after the 2014 General Chapter, Brother Claude was appointed Auxiliary Visitor of the District of France from 2018 to 2022, mainly responsible for western France, Switzerland and Greece.
Since 2024, Brother Claude has been at the Hôtel De La Salle (Rheims) where, together with the community and a team of lay partners, he welcomes Lasallian pilgrims to the Founder’s house. He is actively involved in Lasallian adult education in the District as well as in the District of Central Europe.
He is therefore a Brother with particular experience in the role of Visitor and a rich international outlook, who will soon be guiding the District of France and French-speaking Europe.
Brother Armin Luistro, the General Council and the entire Lasallian family assure Brother Claude of their prayers and support so that he may joyfully and fraternally accomplish the mission entrusted to him.
