Since 2018, the Lasallian Region of RELEM has been developing a process of reflection, listening and discernment on the model of Region that we need for the coming years. In order to facilitate that process, a working team was formed. Coordinated by Brother Rafa Matas (General Councillor), the team is made up of Brothers Aidan Kilty (General Councillor), José Román Pérez (Visitor of Arlep), Gabriele Di Giovanni (Visitor of Italy) and the lay partners Tomeu Martorell and Jean Chapuis (members of the RELEM Team) as well as Ms. Julia Mayer (Central Europe).

The Team established a road map which included questionnaires, meetings with the District Councils, with the different working groups existing in RELEM and, finally, from 9 to 12 January 2022, a joint meeting was held between the working team, the RELEM Council made up of all the Brother Visitors and the MEL Council of RELEM made up of all those in charge of the District Mission.

These were days of Lasallian synodal experience with the aim of reaching a consensus on a document including principles and proposals to be taken to the next RELEM Conference of Brother Visitors for study and approval.

Like all the Lasallian Regions, RELEM is considering the main challenges for the future which it must face and the best responses which, between us all, we can give.

The meeting, in an atmosphere of fraternity, was fruitful and made it possible to achieve the proposed objective.
