Communion and closeness with the Districts, effective presence in the places where the Lasallian educational mission is carried out and personal encounters with the Brothers and Lasallians will lead Brother Armin Luistro, Superior General, and his entire Council to meet in Bogotá, Colombia and in Nairobi, Kenya, in the coming days.

Inspired by the mandates of the 46th General Chapter and in the spirit of decentralising the governance of the Institute, the General Council will meet in Bogotá, Colombia, from 23 July to 3 August. There they will have the opportunity to meet in person for the first time since their election last May.

There they will undertake different activities of reflection and planning, which will take place in the Postulancy House of the Lasallian District of Bogota where they will begin with a few days of spiritual retreat. They will also hold various meetings with the District Councils and the MEL Councils of the Lasallian District of Norandino (Colombia-Ecuador-Venezuela) and the Lasallian District of Bogota (Colombia) and they will also have the opportunity to meet with the Brothers of both Districts.

On the other hand, two visits have been organised to Lasallian ministries: the first one to Tabatinga, Brazil (on the triple border among Brazil, Colombia and Peru) where the Lasallian community is present in a work on the banks of the Amazon River, accompanying the Catholic communities of this region of the Amazon jungle and the Utopia Project in El Yopal, Colombia, where young peasants are studying to become agricultural engineers at Universidad de La Salle. This project has received various national and international awards for its contribution to peace in Colombia and for its academic quality.

After the meeting in Bogota, from 10 through 21 August, the Brothers will be in Nairobi, Kenya. Further information which will be published later.
