Last June 30, 2021, around 70 Lasallians from all over the world gathered in a Zoom meeting to begin the online process for the 4th International Symposium of Young Lasallians (ISYL). The Symposium happens once every seven years. During the orientation session, the International Council of Young Lasallians (ICYL), organizers of the Symposium shared the theme for ISYL– United in Community and Mission: Being Protagonists of the Future!

The Districts and ministries sent two delegates each for the Symposium which will be held in two phases. The first one is the virtual online gathering that will take place on October  2021 with preparatory activities starting last month. The second phase will be an in-person gathering slated for next year that will be devoted to identifying ways to implement the proposals, collaboration, and networking.

In the next few months, ISYL delegates will be collaborating, learning, and creating proposals that will address the following areas of priorities: Culture of Vocations, Service with the Poor, Communications and Networking, and Sustainable Organizational Growth. The proposals that the delegates will come up with will be part of a 7-year plan for the worldwide movement of Young Lasallians. The delegates participating in ISYL are composed of different young Lasallians– young professionals, ministers, students, former students, educators, volunteers and young Brothers – all of whom have shown a great sense of commitment to the Lasallian educational mission.
