On Monday, April 20, 2020, the Brothers from La Salle Phu Tho Community organized a trip to Dong Thap province, a southern province about 150 km from Ho Chi Minh City. Brothers James Nhat and Joseph Ngoc from other communities also took part in this journey. Ms. Phan, a generous woman, provided all the boxes of noodles for these special programs and other programs where the Brothers approached during this difficult time.

Tram Chim is a destination for this program. It is a place where the Brothers have had a vocational center and residence for over ten years. Brother Joseph Quan is currently in charge of this center and the activities at this special place. He often comes to this center to live with the locals to see how Brothers will return to serve there in the coming years. He also connects all Lasallians who have worked with Brothers before. This time, like other times, they are happy to support the food donation program.

The De La Salle Brothers and Partners have visited about one hundred poor families who are happy to receive a gift package at their home. Each gift package includes a bag of rice, a box of noodles, and some other supplies. All were selected by local Lasallian partners who were seriously affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

This outreach program is something Brothers are doing around the world where they are working with others to ensure that the poor have enough food on a daily basis. The gifts they share are not many, but the spirit they bring to others is very respectful toward all involved.
